#Roofnic pop up bar in Mayfair
The transformation of the rooftop at the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane into #Roofnic a picnic themed pop up was a huge hit for the hotel - with queues snaking round the block.
Overlooking the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street below, Ashley Dawes & Stacey Plaine founded and build the popup after winning $40,000 USD from a Marriott Europe Greyspace Competition.
The space it contains a 1957, baby blue kitchenette purchased from an old lady in Plymouth for £2; tables and chairs from a 1960s Scandinavian school; reclaimed theatre lights from Brixton; wooden palates and makeshift cubby houses; plus magnetic blackboards on which you can write rude (and polite) messages with fridge magnet letters. There’s AstroTurf, sparkly light bulbs, cushions scattered on the floor and the likes of Grimes and James Blake on the stereo. But that’s just one side to #Roofnic – it doubles as a daytime hangout for freelancers and hot deskers until the evening crowd arrives at “London’s best rooftop’ - TimeOut.
A concoction of tantalising jam jar cocktails, wine and prosecco are paired with a menu of small plates, including the signature triple stacked ‘manwich’ geared towards soaking up the booze.

“Stacey and I worked together on Marriott Hotels most successful F&B project to date. Stacey was the key driver behind the project success and one of the most exciting individuals I have worked with in a long time. Very much looking forward to collaborating together in the future.

“Stacey has been instrumental in the success of a global food and beverage innovation project, making it one of the most talked about implementations within and outside the company. She's a true 21st century marketing professional that understands the bigger picture and yet can implement a variety of tactics at the ground level. It's been a joy to work with her.”
